Check out the Whistler Ski Scene

Anyone who knows skiing knows that Whistler is one of the greatest ski resorts in the world. This charming ski village has so much to offer both on and off the ski hills. The mountain is not too difficult for the beginner, as there are numerous runs for every skill level. The beginner and the expert can equally enjoy Whistler. Situated in the Coast Mountains between two lakes, Whistler is a top destination for outdoor sports enthusiasts, particularly skiers and snowboarders.

Cruising from top to bottom on either mountain takes time, as a total of 8,171 skiable acres demands. It is a really incredible and vast ski playground. The lifts are well maintained and the ski area is groomed to a high standard. There are a multitude of routes available for cross country skiing and the snowshoe routes can offer some of the most breathtaking views you will ever see. There are over 200 shops in Whistler. Fortunately, the shopping is excellent. The quality is extremely high and the variety will likely surprise you.

Whistler ski resort is very accessible from Vancouver. It is roughly two hours from the city in winter conditions. it's a great option for those who want to make a weekend excursion, or even an overnight trip. There are several companies offering excellent transfer services from Vancouver airport to Whistler. Be sure to select a company that can offer you a variety of vehicle choices and one that has regular runs to Whistler. You will be met at the airport and taken straight to your accommodation. Most of the transportation companies use vehicles that have room to safely store sports equipment and the drivers are experienced in handling and packing equipment where necessary.

A Beautiful and Charming Village

This charming little ski village has so much more than just the ski hills and beautiful surroundings. There is no greater way to break up your day on the mountain than with sampling the wide variety of cuisine available in the village. The type of food ranges from casual to asian fusion, to contemporary. There is even first class pub food throughout the village.

While exploring the village, it is easy to be swept away in the atmosphere. The really great thing is that although the village is relatively small, it has an active nightlife.

The fact that it is located in the mountains certainly adds to this town's allure but the practical aspects - including the reasonably priced accommodation, the vicinity of the airport in Vancouver to Whistler, and the variety of skiing options - make it a wonderful choice for a winter holiday.

Prices are competitive and the door-to-door service that really eliminates any of the traditional hassles of a car rental or even a bus shuttle service.
