Which Wrestlers Can Stand To Relay Training Endurance Best?

By Rob Sutter

Training endurance is an action that can help just about anyone looking to become better fit. It's going to take some hard work, though, as they will have their limits pushed beyond reaches that they probably didn't think of before. Sports of all kinds are going to require that this is set at a minimum but going above and beyond it is going to be done. Professional wrestling fans can tell you just about every star who is best suited to perform for long stretches of time.

Prior to discussing the stars in particular, the Iron Man match deserves to be talked about. To put it simply, this bout is about as bare bones as you could imagine while testing one's physical threshold beyond all capabilities. With wrestlers commonly facing one another for an hour or even more than that, they score consecutive wins over one another during that stretch of time. The wrestler with the most pins or submissions under his or her belt is declared the victor of the match.

A match that I regard as one of my favorites, even to this day, is Bret Hart versus Shawn Michaels at WrestleMania XII. During the hour, the two men faced one another in a bout that included many technical moves in addition to high-flying maneuvers. What I've noticed, more than anything else, is that they didn't seem to tire much during that time. They continually performed at high levels because they paced the action well and followed each other in order to make the bout fun to watch throughout.

Certainly there has to be a number of other stars who are conditioned to undergo events such as Spartan Race, right? This is especially true when you see how men like Daniel Bryan have been able to condition themselves so that they can compete in a number of contests. Many of them, at least in the independent circuit, went over an hour and his temporary vegan lifestyle was a great help to his body. His level of training endurance stands the chance of becoming that much greater.

I believe it goes without saying that training endurance to the utmost degree takes a special kind of athlete. Those in wrestling work hard, without question, but what about those who have proven that they can work for long periods of time, all the while showcasing great vitality? I believe that it comes down to how well you're able to keep energy levels high. There's a big difference in pacing oneself and simply letting out energy in one session without leaving anything else for the future.
